Books I’d Like
Christmas is coming? It’s almost my birthday? I’m a great guy and you’d just like to get me a gift? Here’s a place to start!
Religion/Theology
- Reformed Dogmatics, Vol. 2-4 by Herman Bavinck: I’m happy to report that I received Volume 1 for Christmas from my generous Mother and Father-In-Law, so now it’s just a matter of picking off Volumes 2, 3, and 4.
- New Testament Commentary, 12 Volumes by William Hendriksen & Simon J. Kistemaker: 12 VOLUMES FOR 100 BUCKS. Oh, this is a treasure trove. I already have Acts, but I’d be happy to double up. Or just one of the volumes if you prefer.

Economics
- The Fatal Conceit by F.A. Hayek: This one has to be in my library. Preferably the hardcover. It’s a keeper.
Politics/International
- Eastward to Tartary: Travels in the Balkans, the Middle East, and the Caucasus by Robert D. Kaplan: Why? Read this.
- Going Rogue: An American Life by Sarah Palin: I was never more enraged by politics (up to that point, anyway – now we have the healthcare debacle to be enraged about) than I was by how Gov. Sarah Palin was treated by both the media and her political opponents after her selection as the vice presidential candidate for John McCain. The bias wasn’t even remotely hidden; it was out in the open for all to see. For me, it was the final nail in the coffin for the left-wing media (which I no longer pay attention to), and Palin continues to intrigue me now as she still remains a major target of the left even though she holds no public office and it is claimed that she is an idiot that no one in their right mind would pay attention to. Judging by her book sales, there are a either a lot of major league idiots out there or Palin represents the biggest threat to the political left in years.
- In Denial: Historians, Communism, and Espionage by John Earl Haynes
- Terror and Liberalism by Paul Berman
- The Flight of the Intellectuals by Paul Berman
- Son of Hamas by Mosab Hassan Yousef

American History
- The American Republic: Primary Sources edited by Bruce Frohnen
- Chicago: A Biography by Dominic Pacyga
- The Founders’ Constitution edited by Philip Kurland and Ralph Lerner
- The History of the American Revolution By David Ramsay: The first American national history written by an American revolutionary and printed on American soil. Awesome.
- History of the Rise, Progress, and Termination of the American Revolution By Mercy Otis Warren: OK, paperback is fine on this one. But seriously, a two volume history of the Revolution written by an anti-federalist woman? Sounds interesting.
- In Defense of the Constitution by George W. Carey
- The Pacificus-Helvidius Debates of 1793–1794 by Alexander Hamilton and James Madison
OFF THE LIST!!!
